I wanted to love this dress. The material is too thick, would be warm on a hot day. I didn't like the built in shelf bra. The dress is bra friendly, no need for the shelf bra. Liked the ruching and side slit details! I ended up returning it, it wasn't the perfect black dress for me.

Super comfortable, and the built-in bra is a huge bonus! My only complaint is the sizing. I wear an XS in everything Athleta, and since the reviews said it ran true to size, that's what I ordered. It was uncomfortably small—I would have needed to size up one or even two sizes to fit me as shown on the model. As a petite (5'1"), I can't buy petite sizes in the store, so I have to order online. By the time my order arrives, replacement sizes are often out of stock. Please stock more petite sizes and offer more color options. Us smaller women who would appreciate having the same selection as everyone else.

I already know this dress will be tossed into my suitcase for all my summer and warm weather travel destinations. Roll it up and go! There is a built in shelf bra that keeps the girls secure (I'm a C-cup). The ruching at the waist makes it figure flattering and hides a few of the belly rolls ; ) It will look great with a jean jacket or a set of pearls to really dress it up. I tried the dress (Size M) on in the store and opted to order the Petite (Size M) online. I'm 5'3" and it was too long for me in my opinion. The Petite length hits mid calf and the slit hits about 4" above the knee. I love the quality of Athleta and continually add from their collections to my workout, athleisure and travel wardrobes.
